Goodbye?
Yesterday, while I was busy dropping my entrecard for the day, I experienced yet another excruciating headache that literally dropped me off my feet. It started when my eyes were easily emblazed by small amounts of reflected light in my table. Its like when you look at the sun for 5 seconds and then looked on another object, the spot where the sun is is dark for a while. In my case, it was dark for quite a while! And then the pain in the head started. It's like someone is pulling my eye off while it still pulsating. I ate every medicine I can take just to relieve the pain but nothing happened. I finally decided to be sent to Manila Doctors because of the terrible headache. Whoa, Migraine? ER? Sounds funny..
It was my first time being sent to an ER and it was quite funny to be on an ER because of a simple Migraine. But Lord I swear, it was not just a simple Migraine. I was about to smash my head on the wall because of the pain and I act as if I'm in mental ward asking myself why I'm experiencing such pain! I get enough sleep the night before that, I ate my breakfast, I did not do anything strenuous. Nothing! Seconds of waiting for the doctors diagnosis was like waiting for hours, while pressing my head as hard as I can.
To top it off, the doctor who attended me was my classmate in gradeschool! Nice. Our first meeting after 13 years, she caught me like an addict of some sort. She kept on asking if I can remember her! My goodness, at that moment I was telling myself "Can you treat me first and let's do the chitchat later??" I was really like a lunatic there. Good thing I managed to hold off.
After two injections in the veins (which by the way is another first time -and it hurts!) for almost two hours, I was finally relieved. I managed to talk to my classmate like a normal person. We exchanged numbers and bid my many thank yous.
While going back to the office, I was thinking. I had two serious ailments this month, hypertension and this migraine - the same month I started doing this blogging. I don't know. Am I correct to relate what I'm experiencing to blogging? Is this hobby really eating me up? I'm just wondering.. Do you have the same experience? Should I say goodbye to blogging?

David Cooks' First Single: Light On
Finally, David Cook will soon release his first album in 18th November 2008, a week after David Archuleta releases his own album. Though his yet untitled album is months away, his fans can have an idea of what's in store in probably the much anticipated album of the year through the release of his first single, "Light On" which is co-written by Chris Cornell of Audioslave. According to Cook, the album is "both eclectic and cohesive and have something to say"..
"The music is rock and it's pretty undeniably me, which I'm retty excited about. There's gonna be some interesting twists and turns ... that will keep people interested."
This further want me to buy the album being a Cook fan that I am. You can guys check the said track which is by the way available in iTunes by the end of the month. I'll probably wait for the album instead. You guys can check out the song here.
The song indeed has the Cook signature Rock vibe and I can imagine his overstretched mouth, closed eyes and quite bended knees while seeing the song. It's probably not as radio friendly as Archuleta's single "Crush", which is by the way very mushy for my taste, but I'm sure the rest of the tracks will surely top the Billboard Charts. Let's wait and see.

Hypertension Update
It's been quite a while since I posted my last blog! That last time was just this Sunday. Lol! I was planning to post at least one write-up a day. Well anyway, I've been too preoccupied with my health condition, work and school that I missed checking my favorite and most visited blogs or even how my site is doing in the StatCounter. Now I'm over with my school report so I can do some blog housekeeping. Hehe..
So first an update on my check-ups. I had my blood tests and ECG done the past weekend. It was only yesterday when I had a hand on the results. Guess what, my glucose, uric acid, and good cholesterol level is perfect. My bad cholesterol level is even below the normal range so that's a good thing too. Having seen this results, I rewarded myself with a mouthful of special shawarma, dumplings and Coke - yummy! Can't blame me, my mom has been feeding me with nilagang everything - bangus, tilapia, talong, for days now! But still, she doesn't want me to eat anything salty or fatty "just to be sure". Mga moms talaga. Bad news though, my ECG results did not turned out good. The report says that I have "poor airway flow". I didn't really get what it means but the doc said that it's not at all life threatening "at the moment". Goodness gracious... Can somebody explain this for me please? But I'm really thankful that after taking the recommended meds, I'm feeling a lot better now. Guess I have to really watch I eat and not stress myself to much.. I will probably visit another doctor this week for a second opinion. I am still in denial with the ECG results. Never thought I will have a heart problem this time.. I really have to be health conscious now! Darn, it's too early for me to that!
By the way, thank you to the readers and new found friends who sent their well wishes! God bless rin sa inyo!

Heroes: Volume 3 "Villains" Premier in September 22

Everyone's favorite TV series will be premiering its 3rd season on Monday, 22nd of September and I'm just as excited as everyone else! I bet Youtube will be working overtime come Tuesday morning to accommodate all the Pinoys who can't wait to see the first two-hour episode of the said series. Who wouldn't be?? I can still remember how Season 2 abruptly ended because of the writer's strike last year. So everyone's gone gaga on what follows next to this very addictive series. Good news for the fanatics out there because NBC had just put out clips of the premier episode..
According to Sam of HeroesSeries.Com,
The first clip features Future Claire and Peter, and answers the question of why Future Peter traveled back into the past in the first place; the second clip shows Hiro in his (very uncomfortable and bored) new position as the CEO of his father’s company; the third clip shows the aftermath of the assassination attempt on Nathan; in the fourth clip, Sylar makes a visit to Claire’s house; in the fifth clip, Mohinder and Maya discusses stuff; and in the final clip, Hiro take a punch to the face courtesy of silver-tongued speedster Daphne. Ouch.
Heres the preview of Heroes in its official website. I'm so excited to see this! Oops watch your BP! Hehe
140/100 at 24

The past days I have been complaining about the terrible headache that I'm experiencing especially on the nape area. It's been excruciating dealing with this pain and the normal advil does not affect me at all. After visiting the nearest clinic, it's confirmed that I am having high blood pressure - 140 over 100! Not a big deal perhaps for some. But at my age?? 24? High blood??
I can't help but be amazed since I'm not eating to much fatty o salty foods lately and I have engaged myself in weekly swimming exercise. I don't smoke or drink. And I don't stay up late much at night! These things I thought are the symptoms of having HB. The doc said that it might be hereditary, which I guess is true since my mom and lola have frequent HB attacks. I often underrate what they were going through up to this day when I found myself having one. So this is how it feels. You feel weak, tired, sleepy, irritated and irritated! (Oh I just said that) Now I'm taking meds that my lola is taking. I still can't believe it. I use to believe that I am a healthy person, though not a fit one.
From this day on, I won't be eating foods that HB should not eat - fatty and fried foods, salty foods (I'll miss toyo and bagoong:(),and most of all chocolates. Waah, ano bang parusa to??.

I think I should..
I've been so preoccupied with blogging and making new friends that I am quite neglecting some of my pressing responsibilities. It's just when I'm into something, I get easily addicted and find it difficult to desist! Actually started blogging January this year but it was only this month when I constantly update it with articles about what's happening around me and some of the things I learned from school, work, reading the dailies and also from browsing some sites. Lately I've been experiencing head aches that won't be remedied by Advil. Maybe my body is telling me that I'm going overboard. I should learn how balance these things up so that productivity won't be compromised.
So from this day on, I promise myself to do the following:
As soon as I get to the office, I allow myself to do an hour and half of some blog housekeeping, checking mails and little chat with my friends. The rest of the morning till the late afternoon, I should keep my head on work related stuff. I'll do some checking of mails (and blogs, please?) right before I leave work for night school.
So that's it! Let's see if this formula works! Goodluck to me!

AW Surveys: Earning from Surveys

Discovered yet another easy yet reliable earning opportunity through A.W. Surveys. Once you register, you'll get yourself a free referral link that you can send to your friends and contact lists. Answering their surveys, which is by the way a no brainer, could earn you as much as $4 dollars each while referring a contact will earn you $1.25 each! Of course, I was hesitant to try this but after learning that wisecrunch received his first payment, I decided to try it myself.
After two days, find my current balance reaching $37!
$27 I earned from answering their surveys while $ 10 from referring some friends
If I can earn this much, there's no way you cannot earn the way I did. You may want to try it, besides it would only ask for your email. So far haven't received any spam mails since I joined this survey, so no worries about that. Will let you know once I get my hands on my earnings. Join for free! :)

My New Dream Car: Chevrolet Volt

I was browsing todays newspaper and saw the full page centerfold ad of Chevrolet celebrating 100 Years of Great Cars! Great cars indeed because GM had successfully introduced some of the most advanced and stylish cars in history.
What really caught my attention was their newest addition - Chevrolet Volt. Not only does it boast a very modern and futuristic design, but the car's engine can be run by either gasoline, biodiesel, hydrogen and electricity! GM has decided on a new descriptive terminology to distinguish it from traditional hybrids. They are calling the Volt an E-REV, for "extended-range electric vehicle." This is in part justified since there is no mechanical linkage between the petrol engine and the wheels.
Chevrolet Volt .., a battery-powered, extended-range electric passenger vehicle that uses a gas engine to create additional electricity, making pit stops practically passe. The technology behind the Volt concept, GM's E-flex System, allows electricity to be produced from gasoline, ethanol, bio-diesel or hydrogen, helping to provide a global solution to diversifying transportation energy sources.
The Volt concept vehicle was officially unveiled at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on January 7, 2007 in Detroit, Michigan an was announced to be produced in 2010. It roughly costs 2.2M pesos @ Php46/dollar. I just can't wait to drive those wheels!
Makoy's Memoirs of a Certified Blogger

I have long been hesitating to start and maintain a blog if not because of some online blog gurus who have sort of influenced me to take blogging seriously. My very proximate inspiration is my officemate's Greenfield's who have religiously updated his blogs with well-written and opinionated articles. Also, my new hobby was not possible if not because of Makoy's Memoirs of a Certified Blogger along with his two blogs - Make Money Online with Makoy and Makoy's Literary Writings. Though I have not met him personally, it seems that he knows what interests a business, music & movie buff like me.
There are other reasons why I have subsribed from his blogs. First is that all of this blogs are definitely worthy of reading. His blog is my source of the latest scoops, tips and even a slice of his Singapore life. It is likewise very current and informative.
So when I heard that he was nominated in the Philippine Blog Awards, I was not surprised at all. I together with the Makoy believers out there are hereby endorsing Makoy's blog as the PBA Blogger's Choice. Hope Makoy would bring home the bacon!
Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer (whew)

What a long winning title to have! Whew.. Anyway, I've been following this reality program for two nights now. As of writing, Cris Pastor and Van Roxas have been proclaimed as the 5th and 4th runners-up garnering only around 2% and 6%, respectively of the total votes. I was quite surprised because I was rooting for the sensual and the most improved Cris as the winner while Van as the 1st runner up. I was also expecting that the voting public will go for the 'looks' more than the talent. Their performance last Saturday was impressive - no mistakes, very natural. Oops just this minute, Liezel was proclaimed 3rd runner up?? Whaaat??
Well, even if I'm not a fan, is Liezel more worthy than Miguel who have been struggling to keep up with the competition. Miguel who have been almost eliminated every week? Shoots. This contest proves to be unreliable by the minute. I don't have the urge to finish the program anymore! Fearless forecast. It's quite obvious that Miguel and Bugoy will be vying for the top spot. Miguel might be using their family wealth to buy votes while Bugoy seemingly bank on the votes of the masa who could easily relate to him. I dunno. Neither of them for me is deserving. Both of them are lanky and effeminate. Yeng Constantino of last's seasons PDA has been the most impressive product of PDA. Seeing her perform with the finalists proved that she is a true winner. No one could match her musicality, her facial expression, everything! I'll probably ask my officemates on who the winner was tomorrow morning.
Tightwad Lalaksut | Where are you?

My peers do often call me the Lord of all Tightwads, which of course, I totally disagree.. sort of! *wink* I'd rather call myself a wise spender or, just a man practicing the 'delaying gratification' concept - save now spend and enjoy later. Maybe this attitude is due to my ultimate goal of retiring at an early age and being 'matipid' is one way of achieving that goal. But it seems to me that being the thrifty persona in me is expiring and it drives me crazy..
Before, I remember, I always keep track of my savings. I either check my accounts online or through phone just to check whether my hard earned savings is still intact. Now, I don't even know what is left of my account, and worse even, I can't remember the last time I put money in my account! I also check how much I'm spending using my credit card and when it is due. Now, I'm almost always surprised that I purchase that much in month! What is happening to me!
Before, when I go to coffee shops to finish school or office work, I tend to bring with me a sachet of instant coffee just to avoid paying 150 bucks for a starbucks coffee! Yes I did that! But now, I really care less how much startbucks coffee I consume in a week. I'm probably spending 2,000 pesos in a month for Mr or Ms Starbucks. I'm rattling while writing this!
Before, when I go to school, I usually tell myself to just ride a jeep so that I end up paying just 7.50 instead of spending 100 or so worth of gas. Now I can't even think of riding a jeep and often justify that riding the PUVs are dangerous and slow moving.
And now, despite of the depleting savings, I'm even thinking of many things I need to buy! Waah! I really don't know what is happening to me or if this is a good or bad thing. I can think of many before and now scenarios but it sort of depresses me. Especially thinking how much bank account was before the year starts. Aahh. I guess I have to work harder to satisfy this spending urge. Hope that in time I could revive at least 30% of the tightwad-ness I had before
Typhoon Marce Until Saturday
MANILA STREETS SEPT 10
I was on my way to a meeting yesterday as Marce was busy pouring the streets once again with hard rain and thunderstorm. Two nights have passed and the storm hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. As expected, the rains and the clogged drainage immediately turned Manila into an instant urban lake making traffic worse every second.
Good thing I brought with me a high car which makes me easy to pass through the floods. I saw several commuters who had no choice but to drench their legs onto the dirty street torrent. I remember experiencing the same thing when I was in elementary. I had to walk the floods till home. Immediately soaked myself in a basinful of alcohol afterwards. Well, I think Pinoys have to live with this till Saturday when the storm is expected to flee the country. Hopefully it does because I'm extra slow and less productive during these cases and kinda sleepy all the time. I guess I have to increase coffee intake till this lazy season ends.

3rd Trimester: Welcoming "Fresh Stress"

The 3rd trimester of my 3rd year in the MBA had officially started this day, 9th of September. If not because of an email from a classmate informing me that she might not go to school, I would probably miss one of most important day of each trimester. Why important?
Probably, some might say that the first few classes are not tedious since the class would probably do some 'housekeeping', as what are professors puts it. This means checking the attendance, getting to know the class and the course etcetera. But for me, this day is equally important for two reasons. First is that this is your first encounter with the professor. Professors do remember students who either talked, asked or recited in class. So as much as possible, talk on the first few days of class and shut up the rest of the trimester. Easy! Secondly, this is the day professors asked the class to group. Most of the time, your group determines 70% of your class performance especially because most of the requirements are done with a group. Cases, reports and even exams are done collaboratively with a group! This is important for me since I am lazy stude who just rely on what my groupmates can accomplish. Hehe.. So i tend to squeeze myself to the nerdy but nice dudes.
I just can't accept that a fresh new trimester is coming! I'm already stressed thinking about it. But I guess I have to deal with. Besides, after this I have one more subject to take plus the exam and I'll be done and over this. I'm just like I have someone who I can talk to whenever I feel this way. Thank God.

I'm a Nuffnanger
Being new in the blogosphere, I have to catch up with the newest trends in the blogging community. As I was my browsing my favorite blogs, I noticed the blue and red icon announcing the arrival of NUFFNANG. It tags itself as the leading advertising community in Asia. With a little research in the net and chitchat with my co-bloggers, I did not waste a second putting an icon on my blog as well.
I've learned that aside from the usual Tri-Media, blogging has been a new medium to advertise and promote a product. Sounds appealing for me since being in the advertising industry myself, why not take this opportunity to use my blog as a platform for advertisers to promote advertisers' product. Not only do I voice out my thoughts and 'discoveries' but I can also earn from it! Not to mention that the icon is a complementing adornment to my blog.
Signing up to Nuffnang is a no-brainer and it won't harm you neither. After you sign-up, the registration will be processed in 48 hours. So go ahead join the bandwagon and be a certified Nuffnanger!

Makati Aquatic Sports Arena - Best Public Pool
This weekend had really been a physical one for me – a welcome change from the intellectual stress I’m getting from doing cases for school. Last Sunday, I went swimming again with my bud in MASA Makati. The place is located beside the Makati and Garden on JP Rizal Extension, West Rembo. Its just a 25 minute MRT ride away from Cubao where I live. Unlike the first swimming we had in Amoranto, where people from all walks of life (or should I say all sidewalks of the urban shanties who I guess just had their first taste of chlorinated water for the week), our visit in MASA: was very visually appealing, clean and therapeutic.
The place can be compared to a decent resort in Laguna or Rizal – the façade is well maintained, the pool is blue (which tastes the ordinary drinking water by the way) and the locker and shower area is really decent! The normal rate for the unlimited use of the pool is 150 pesos. It’s kinda cheap considering the well maintained facilities. But if you’re a resident of Makati, the fee is just down to 50 pesos! Whoaa! On that moment, I really wished I was a Makati. Ang daming benefits! But of course, we tried to go around with the rule and asked if the gay dude manning cashier could grant us the discounted price. So with a few *wink* *wink*, we found ourselves paying just 100 pesos! Hehe..
So off we went to the pool area. The place is not crowded at all! I think there were only less than ten people swimming. Four of which, it seems, are students of an olympian looking half naked Chinese dude who shouts every now and then. We watched the students for a while and were so impressed on how fast and effortless they swim. Kayang kaya ko yun, I murmured. So after we wore our swimming cap and goggles, we plunged into the blue water. Aahh, very refreshing! But unlike the swimmers, I think I had four stops before reaching the other end of the pool. I was kinda frustrated. I was literally gasping for air as I swim! My bud also had difficulty breathing at first but it was soon before he swam like a pro! After a few tries, I finally managed to swim end to end non-stop. Compared to Amoranto , we lasted for two hours in the pool. Somehow our stamina improved as well as our swimming techniques. I considered it a good motivation also because the first time in Amoranto, I can’t even pull myself from the pool or even wear my briefs because of how exhausted I was for a 45 minute swimming.
After we swam, we felt ok and not as strained as before. This time, the experience was therapeutic. We agreed to do this every week so that we could at least reach 30% of the skills of the swimmers we saw. I just hope we could think of a way to go about the standard rate next time –perhaps making a fake yellow card ID to enjoy the special Makati rate. Hehe. Again I want to send my kudos to the Makati government for putting a facility like that of MASA. At least in a way, you know where the taxes in Makati go to.
Bowling & Buffet

My throws almost always go to the canal or hits one or two pins unlike Edward, Darren and Budz who either gets a strike or a spare! Of course, come the second round, I manage to get several strikes and spare making me the 4th highest. Hehe.. Everyone had fun especially the girls. Though they are very feminine throwing the bowl, they are equally as good as the others. By the way, we have with us Edward’s girlfriend and her brother and Jack who I first thought Darren’s girlfriend. She’s cute and has nice teeth AND she is engaged to a tall guy friend of Edwards.

UP: Cheerleading Champions of 2008
Congratulations to my Alma Mater who were successful defending the first place trophy in the 2008 UAAP Cheerleading Competition. Here’s a clip of their winning moment.
A new record of around 24,000 students attended the event last September 7, 2008!
Better luck next time to UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe and FEU Cheering Squad who won the 1st and 2nd runner-up awards, respectively. J

Credit Cards
If you want to pay a certain item (using your credit card) more than 50 days after the date of purchase without incurring the dreaded "interest", follow these tips:
- Know the cutoff date of each of your credit cards. If possible, write the date at the signature area of the card.
- When buying an item, always check what the date on that day is and check which of your credit cards had just finished its cut off. So for example, you have a Citibank (cut off: 22nd of the month), HSBC (cut off: 30th of the month) and you're buying something today (6th of Sept), choose the HSBC card to take advantage of paying the item more than the usual 30 day period with no interest! In our example, the item bought can be paid sometime November.
Be sure that by that time you still remember your purchase and have prepared for your payment. :)
Globe Unlichat - Free Chat Service

For fellow chatahollics out there who wants to stay "online", Globe is offering a free trial version of its UNLIMITED CHAT service starting today 5th of September till the 4th of October! This is probably Globe's response to the launch of Smart's UZZAP which basically offers the same thing.
Globe users can text CHAT to 2979 and wait for a text containing the site where you can download the application program. The program is free by the way. As soon as you download the program, you can start chatting! No more "GTG" as what Globe repeatedly says in their advertisements!
After the trial period though, they'll be charging P25, 100 and 200 for 1, 5 and 15 days of unlimited chatting. So guys, take advantage of this free offer. For other FAQs you can visit Globe's Unlichat FAQ page.

The Intricacies of Blogging!
This week I kinda want to explore on the possibilities for my blog. I'm taking this opportunity because by next week, I'm starting school all over again and I will never find time to doing this anymore. So as much as I could, I NEED to do something for this blog para naman di boring.
I have been a lurker for other others blogs and I'm quite intrique on so many colorful icons on their blog. Just learned how this icons could bring them so much money! Haha.. So aside from telling stuffs about yourself and other things, you can make it a money making machine! Wow! I'm quite excited because I like personalizing things and making money out it. Blogging can indeed be worthwhile hobby.

I started with Adsense but still I'm not quite sure how it works. What I know is that your blog should be click several times and after some time, you'll get some bucks from them. Now, I'm learning how to use the Entrecard. Boy I find it complicated! Haha. But thanks to a "certified blogger", he kinda directs me on how these things work. Hope in time I'll get used to this.
