Bob Ong Quotable Quotes

Hi again! I just want to share some Bob Ong quotable quotes about LOVE I read over the net. I find these quotes really funny but TRUE! I dedicate this to my kumpadres who are still recovering from heartaches. Hehe. Enjoy reading!

"Kung hindi mo mahal and isang tao, wag ka nang magpakita ng motibo para mahalin ka nya.." If you don't love someone, don't show signs of liking her"

"Gamitin ang puso para alagaan ang taong malapit sayo. Gamitin ang utak para alagaan ang sarili mo." Use your heart to care the one you love. Use your brain to keep yourself in cushion.

"Huwag mong bitawan ang bagay na hindi mo kayang makitang hawak ng iba." Don't let go of someone that you can't bear seeing in the hands of others.

"Kung maghihintay ka nang lalandi sayo, walang mangyayari sa buhay mo. Dapat lumandi ka din." Don't wait for someone to flirt with you. Learn to flirt as well.

"Pag may mahal ka at ayaw sayo, hayaan mo. Malay mo sa mga susunod na araw ayaw mo na din sa kanya, naunahan ka lang." If you love someone and doesn't love you back, let it be. Who knows, in time, you don't love her too, she just learned it earlier.

"Hiwalayan na kung di ka na masaya. Walang gamot sa tanga kundi pagkukusa." If you're not happy with the one you're with, it's time to break up. There's no remedy to stupidity but some self initiative.

Special thanks to Denis Claves for helping me with the translation. :)

It's been 13 days!

So it was almost two weeks (basing it on my twitter) that I last posted an article in this blue blog! Not that I have no more thoughts to pop, but I have been pretty preoccupied with a lot of things the past days. The most that I did was to put drop several entrecards to some of my favorite writers..

Well anyway, here I am. Stealing some minutes of work time to update you of what's happening in my boring life. First about the hiring in Alchemy thing, I found out that using 88db.com, sulit.com.ph, friendster and facebook have generated quite a lot of responses already. It's just that we haven't started calling them yet. We have to finish some assignments first to properly screen future Alchemists. More about Alchemy, we're busy doing a campaign for one interior design/furniture company. We already finished doing market research for them and we're on our finishing the marketing strategy to guide us on how the campaign should go. Hope everything'll be finished as planned. Also, our ads on Toshiba TVs were on the broadsheets the past week. Weeks of going back and forth to Las Pinas and revising ads several times finally paid off.

Enough of work, school naman (later love life promise). It was also a tough week last week. Reports here and there and midterms kept me tense and worried from time to time. I volunteered to present my business concept in our Entrepreneurship class. Being a spa-natic and car-thusiast as i am, I wanted a business that would have both. So what I wanted was a spa that would not only destresss me but also takes care of my car while I'm being massaged. Basically its a spa with free car wash! Hehe.. Not that brilliant siguro but the execution would be terrific, the spa will have a cool lounge where people could sip free coffee as they watch TV and/or see their cars being washed by gorgeous women (yes they'll be in their sexy attires while washing your car).. As expected, the guys in the class where laughing with me as presented the concept. Dirty minds. They expressed their interest already in investing on the business! Judging basically on the class' reaction, I think this would definitely click.

About me love.. I choose not to be elaborate on this. Hehe. But its enough to say that she keeps me going and going. I'm still having this long distance relationship with her - so far so good! Can't help but smile (without her knowing) whenever she shares her pimple problem as if she had it the first time! Well, anyone with flawless skin would be dreaded to hear anything about scar, pimples, etc., Really wish she'd be home soon and squish those damn pimples for her.. Haha.

Missed doing this! I hope I can do this more often this week! Bye for now, back to advertising muna. :)

Iceland "Best Country To Live In" No More

Its true. It somehow shocked me to learn that a country that houses some of the most highest earning income individuals are now but experiencing the effects of the global financial crisis. They are now first casualty of the forecasted "national bankruptcies" that will occur in the coming days. A full-blown collapse of Iceland's financial system would send shock waves across Europe, given the heavy investment by Icelandic banks and companies across the continent, according to Associated Press.

U.N.'s just awarded the country last year as the "best country to live in", with its residents deemed the most contented in the world - and now no more.

Iceland is one of Europe's wealthiest countries - thanks to its deregulated banking industry that dates back only in the early 1990's. According to the Associated Press, the Icelanders are now watching their economy as it implodes, their currency losing almost half its value, and their heavily exposed banks collapsing under the weight of debts incurred by lending in the boom times. The government had earlier announced it had nationalized the bank under emergency laws enacted to deal with the crisis.

Goes to show that a wealthy country like that of Iceland won't be insulated in such a financial crisis and that any country including ours can suffer the same fate. THE WHOLE COUNTRY, BANKCRUPT? I can't imagine how its Prime Minister is doing to turn this sorry state around. I also can't imagine that banks are closed and cannot even get hand of my hard-earned savings. Really hope this won't happen to the country soon. It would be chaotic.

Top 3 Business Ideas

Our Entrepreneurship course in MBA requires us to think of a business that we dream to establish in the near future, regardless of whether we pursue it or not. To motivate the class, the professor provided several lectures on what it takes to be an entrepreneur, myths and facts of putting a business and some insights and experiences that he had while managing his own huge businesses. By the way, this professor belongs to the ULTRA HIGH NET WORTH INDIVIDUALS (individuals who have more than $30M in financial assets -- thus the caps lock ;)), so he really does know what he is talking about.

So now, I'm thinking of a business that I may want to put up aside perhaps from the advertising agency that we are currently running. I'm thinking of a business that is not seasonal (like a christmas tree business which sells its peak of course during the christmas seasons), a business that does not requires much capital (like a flour manufacturing that needs expensive equipments), and a business that wouldn't take long before revenues come in (like businesses that involves a lot of research or testings). Given the what-i-dont-wants in a possible business, I have come up with these choices..

1st. A SPA/Phone a Massage business. It does not require any inventory, thus no problems on spoilage whatsoever. Plus, with the ever stressful lifestyle of Pinoys nowadays, including myself, going to a massage or spa, briefly relieves you with stresses or pressures. My spa should offer different services though to cater a certain niche and I must hire the best masseurs/masseuse for my clients to keep on coming back.

2nd LPG Dealership business. I think this is a nice venture as well because most if not every household must be using gasoline stoves in cooking food, thus the supply is inelastic, as they say, which means even if the gasoline goes way up, consumers will still buy gasoline. Not bad eh? I should only secure a safe place to put invetories of LPG tanks (so to avoid explosions, hehe), do some marketing in the area, and that's it, a surefire business.

3rd. Still related in fuels and more grandiose than the previous one, Biodiesel plant business. As we all know, the prices of gasoline will continue to go up and will be depleted soon. Several biofuels from plants have been discovered as options to gasoline. Samples sources are coconut, corn, soy and even the newly discovered plant jathropa. Of these alternatives, I'm going with the Jathropa plant. Jathropa is a non-edible plant that can be planted in any kind of soil - dry or non-arable, so there will be no competition with the edible crops like rice and corn. Also its plant oils produces more than what the coco or corn can produce making the plant more revenue generating. Though at this time we are not using biofuels wholly (we're only using 10% blend in certain gasolines), soon the demand for this fuel will rise and that a lot of car manufacturers are making cars that can take in either electricity, biofuels or the regular gas (read my article about Volt - My dream Car)

So that's about it. These are my choices for a possible business venture. Still confused which one to choose given the considerations I mentioned. How about you? Do you have a business in mind you like to share?

Eagle Eye

Decided to finish the "holy-day", at least for the Muslims, by watching Eagle Eye, a suspense-filled, action packed, conspiracy thriller from Paramount-Dreamworks. The movie quite roused my interest since it debuted at number in the box office and I received a lot of good reviews from friends. So together with my brother and cousin, we paid Gateway a visit.

There isn't much mall goers at that time. Maybe most of the people decided to stay at the comfy of their homes. This is good though - less queues and better seats for us. We were just wishing that the movie is good as well.

And so we thought.

Though the movie did put us on the edge of our seats, the idea of the protagonists being manipulated by a "digi-voiced" girl that made them an instant national threat is quite really far from reality. We were disappointed when the whole plot of the movie revolves on a super advanced computer that acts as a Big Brother of the whole US - who controls all automated equipment to coerce anyone to follow its commands.

But I have to give credit on the hyperactive scenes of the movie. We still remember that we keep saying our 'aaarghhhs' whenever the black Cayenne was tortured. Darn love that car! Just learned that the movie was co-produced by Spielberg, thus the Minority Report feel of the movie.

Overall, not really a bad movie to see. Would still like to see this in the big screen because of the really smashing scenes. After a week or two though, the film will do poorly in the box office because of the story. (By the way, the actor here kinda resembles me. Lol!)

What to do when there is nothing to do

Hello guys! I miss you all! I'm having a restful day this Eid ul-Fitr wherein Muslims celebrate the end of their fasting. The weather is also humid and cold, perfect for the lazy holiday. So now that I have nothing to do, the only recourse is to go back to BLOGGING! WOOTWOOO! It's been only four days since I last posted my goodbye(?) post and I can't resist visiting my blog and your blogs every so often. It may be stupid of me to relate my past illnesses to my new found hobby and I do apologize for that.

As I remember, one of the reasons why I started blogging is to ease me with day to day stress and not to be the source of it. Maybe it's because I want to do so many things with this blog that I tend to neglect what my body is telling me. I just can't help but try discovered hacks, cool widgets, or money making schemes among many other things that would make my blog more worthy of your visits. Hehe. But this time, I won't stress myself with these things. I'll stick to the original purpose of this blog - to vent out lalaksut's thoughts and to share a slice of his life and his new discoveries.

Back to Blog na. Hehe
