Gloria Jeans - Cubao: My Nerd Venue!

Hi again! This is my second post for the day! It usually takes me months to follow one blog entry and here I am during my busiest weeks, still taking time to write something in my blog.
I'm now here at one comfy seat in Gloria Jeans Cubao. I just learned that our class in Finance is suspended - which should be the case since today is Quezon City Day! So instead of getting back home, I decided to pay GJ a visit and try to finish what I can finish.. Nice!
So here are my deadlines for the week.. (By the way for those who don't know me, I am taking my Masteral in Business Ad for two years now and I take classes during night time. I'll discuss more on this excruciating school-work life of mine probably on my next blog. Mean time, here's my itinerary:
- Aug. 20: Hairworks Case in Consumer Behavior (Case on how Mr Wong should market a hair salon in Hongkong where competition is fierce). Did my part here already so I'll just email it.
- Aug 26: Submission of the Final Exam in Stratman. 25% complete. Need to go visit a library for information in the advertising industry in the Philippines. I'm doing a case regarding our company (Alchemy Advertising) and I still need more info on the trends in the industry. I should be discussing this with my partner. Target date of finishing my part is on Friday (Aug 22) so Bry can still have more time to do the answers.
- same date: Enzone & Nautilus Case Submission. For sure Saturday or Sunday we'll have a meeting on this. Should read the case already before Saturday.
- Aug 30: Finals in 280.2. I should start reading and solving sample questions to pass this math/accounting subject

Levi's Copper Jeans

So what am I trying to say? I just want to say that I became a VICTIM - victim of this hype and incidentals that Levi's is generating! Yesterday, Aug 18, 2008 marked the day when I found myself giving my credit card to the counter paying for my first Levi's Jeans! After years of resistance and from shying myself from any Levi labeled store or kiosk, I was convinced that buying one is not bad after all! (Am I really convinced? Huhu) That it is a long term investment and that the jeans is almost impossible to wear (and tear, hopefully)because of its inherent durability! Waah, am I actually saying this?! What I am experiencing is what they call post purchase dissonance. This is when a buyer keeps on asking himself "Did I just buy a 4000 worth jean??!, Did I just make the right decision? Should I have spent this hard earned money for something else??". I'm choosing not to write several sample questions because it's starting to kill me.
By the way, much as I want to buy a 501, the jeans only reaches my ankle (in short, bitin!) Nevertheless, I still bought a Levi's - a Levi's Copper Jeans which is by the way more expensive and astig than a 501. Like a 501, it's also buttoned but the kind saleslady told me that the textile is more comfortable and more durable than any other Levi's, thus a 4,099 tag! Not being too arrogant, this is some of the inconveniences of being taller than the average pinoy dude, style is quite limited depending on how tall (or short) you are. I should have spend around 2,500 to 3,000 for owning a Levi's but because of the length of the jeans, I was forced to buy the more expensive one! Unfair! Jean brands should really think of the "tall people" market - besides everyone is going tall these days! It's ok anyway, the jeans fits me very well and I'll just take care of its very well. As part of my "convince-myself stage", I actually told my mom and my siblings, who were with me on that momentous event in my life, that I look like a celebrity wearing the Copper jeans! They just nod and say "Let's go kuya! Tagal mo talaga bumili!" What the heck!
I'm wearing my authentic Levi's today and I'd probably wear this again the day after next! Haha.. I'm really happy with it! Guys, you should try buying one now while inflation is relatively low. Later on baka 10,000 na yang Levi's. There's no way I would buy a 10,000 worth of jeans!
